@The other guy, not Tod. What's up with the same? You're in your 40s, why not say same here? You sound like an idiot saying just same. Even I don't say same without the here cause I'm not an idiot. And what is actually wrong with the Ukrane segment from last year? Geez guys!?!

around the 18:55 mark: six months later, it's already begun. she's reported to be dating jesse rutherford of the neighborhood, whom she's known since she was 15 and he was 26. this is coming a year after happier than ever, too, an album said to be about a relationship like that. you guys called it, oh my god.

(disclaimer: i already fell out of love with her, so this is both horrifying and relieving for me to see – relieving in a sense that i'm glad i got away from her when i did.)

H.E.R's Uncle works for the academy.y/grammy's so she has actually blood ties to the grammys. and that is why she is nominated EVERY SINGLE YEAR. shes good…. but that is why she gets nominated even on her slow years

Your right! not matter how they try to dress up the Grammys, with hot young performers, and try to adapt a new attitude ,it's still always going to be just another awards show, that is so archaic! that even when they try to freshen it up? the old stink can't be hidden!, look at this year's Oscar's? A fiasco for sure, like they thought this scandal would help? but has totally ruined the brand, and now even more people are walking away!!

I know your channel isn't directed towards this genre typically but can you do a one hit wonderland on space mother by monster magnet. I've never heard any of there other songs played at all. Definitely gotta be a contender for it

"There are a lot of genuine people in the industry" ?? Baffling. I'm not saying all celebrities are monsters or anything, but Gaga was on camera. They're all on camera. I don't buy for a second that nobody there isn't acting for their fans. Very weird, naive comment.

I was excited about Silk Sonic, a group I had somehow not heard of cleaning up, and then I actually listened to their album and it was like a joke… "You smell better than a barbecue"

Re Jon Batiste: Besides being a phenomenal artist, the soundtrack for Soul was on a tear, winning more than 25 awards in since it release just over a year ago. His profile was higher than just The Late Show, explaining the Grammy attention.
Oh, and John Popper isn't exactly a blues musician. Blues Traveller are a jam band, more closely associated with Dave Mathews and the Grateful Dead than the Blues.

I think one of the worst moments was the Best Reggae Album category being stacked with Caribbean artist with amazing albums, but only one Caucasian UB40-esque act with dudes from Virginia winning.

Thank you for being respectful about BTS. I just want to say also that most fans weren't mad that Doja Cat won (if anything many of us wondered why she didn't win in any of her other categories) just angry at the treatment they receive from the Grammys, and of course disappointed BTS didn't win for a second year. As Namjoon pointed out, the category they were up for was televised in 2019, then not in 2020 or 2021 (when they were nominated but not there because of C19), yet they televised it this year at the end of the show.. so even though they let them perform early on, we still had to keep watching just to watch them lose an award. Also putting them in only one category, and one filled with features/collabs is frustrating.

Also it was mentioned that BTS will be okay without a Grammy (which I agree, they will!) but that Doja needed one and has been wanting one for awhile. BTS just as badly want one, I think in large part because it's something that would bring a lot of pride to their country and such, as it's never been done by a South Korean group. That's why a lot of ARMYs care, because it's something they want. Hopefully it works out for them next year. 🙁

Just some insight! (Also I think "grannys" may have been trending, at least in part, because ARMYS use that instead of "grammys" so "grammys" WON'T trend lol)

What the Grammys should do is nominate the winners of every genre album for album of the year.
The nominees would be winner of Best Rock Album, Best Metal Album, Best Alternative, Best Etc.

I can totally understand your take on Jacob Collier. He very much makes music for music nerds. And by that, I mean the types of people who majored in music, but never did anything with it and love listening to jazz, but want something new.

If you want to give him a shot and try to understand him as a musician, listen to his cover of "in my room" compared to the original

The dress moment between Megan and Dua was a homage to Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston presenting at the VMAs in 1999, except that time they ripped their own dresses.

Man, it really bothers me when you say things like that whenever you mention BTS. Most ARMY won't jump you for expressing your opinion on their music (of course there's always immature people out there) because we know everyone has different tastes. In all honesty, most people only know their most recent tracks, and mainly the English language ones, so we wish people would give their music a fair chance, there are several places where you can find translations on their Korean lyrics. I understand most people have seen ARMY mainly when we are mad, and that's because we get loud when calling out people for hating on them needlessly. You saying you don't connect with their recent songs because they are mostly surface level and to be enjoyed during a time when we were all isolated because of a pandemic is fine. Even not knowing Korean is ok, though we appreciate when someone reviews their lyrics knowing the meaning of them. All I'm trying to say is, you don't need to worry so much about what you say about their music, as long as you can keep it respectful to them as human beings.

It wasn't THAT long ago that hip hop artists had to boycott the Grammys just to have their category added. Now ever since MC Lyte took over the organization it's nothing but hip hop/R&B/Pop. I realize that's reflective of the Top-40, but c'mon…there were like 5 country artists, but aside from Brandi Carlisle (who is probably alt-country more than anything) where the F were the bands? Seriously, you couldn't have one single rock band perform? They even had gospel and jazz, but they can't have one single rock band play??? Contrary to the event and the awful category nominations, there were actually decent rock and indie albums released in 2021.
